Under Indian accounting method (Indian GAAP), the technology outsourcer's net profit after tax (PAT) in the quarter ended March 31, 2009 stood at Rs.1613 crore, up from Rs.1249 crore reported in the corresponding period a year earlier (year-on year or YoY rise of 29.14 percent).During the period under review, the IT major's total income stood at Rs.5635 crore, up 24.06 percent (YoY) from Rs.4542 crore.
For the full year (FY09), Infosys said its total income stood at Rs.21,693 crore, up from Rs.16,692 crore (YoY rise of 29.96 percent) while its net profit after tax stood at Rs.5988 crore, up from Rs.4659 crore(YoY increase of 28.52 percent).
Industry wise, revenue for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, from financial services, manufacturing, telecom and retail were Rs.1858 crore (up 20.57 percent YoY), Rs.1171 crore (up 56.76 percent YoY), Rs.944 crore (down 7.54 percent YoY) and Rs.759 crore (up 41.07percent YoY) respectively.
And, for the whole year, the revenue from the four sectors (financial services, manufacturing, telecom and retail) were Rs.7358 crore (up 23.20 percent YoY), Rs.4289 crore (up 74.77 percent YoY), Rs.3906 crore (up 8.59 percent YoY) and Rs.2728 crore (up 38.40 percent YoY) respectively.
